2167 Idolo

The first true chapter of the Zone of the Enders universe. This is the story which explains the origins of Orbital Frame technology and how as well as why it was developed. Close to an hour long OVA, the story starts off by introducing the main character; Radium, a reckless Phantoma LEV pilot in the BAHRAM military forces. His comrade is the skilled Viola. The plot quickly introduces them having a hate for Earth as people who live on Mars are ridiculed and outcast by Earth people. It is evident there is an ongoing under the table conflict, and BAHRAM is involved with liberating the tight Federation grasp of Earth.

Radium and Viola are soon chosen to be test pilots for a new vehicle being developed by BAHRAM called the Orbital Frame. It is revealed that it is far superior to any existing vehicle in possession of Earth and Mars. The speed, agility and power exceeds anything imagined by humanity. However, all of this is thanks to the discovery of a powerful new material called Metatron. The boundries of human capacity are shattered as this new material is used in experimentation, although as the OVA proceeds, it seems that Metatron has a few secrets of it's own.

Story Notes

1.0 - Radium, William and Viola and other Martians are piloting Phantoma LEVs in a training exercise against a laser cannon encampment atop a mountain cliff.

1.1 - Radium notices his booster power has been lowered disabling him from gaining potential altitude.

1.2 - Radium is pinned by a mosquito, Viola helps him recover.

1.3 - Radium takes solo action by disabling a laser cannon, then ripping off it's armor to use a shield against the primary laser cannon. Training session ends successfully.

2.0 - UNSF pilots are transferred to BAHRAM military base on Mars.

2.1 - William is punched out by a UNSF soldier; Colonel Bahros. Enraged by racism, Radium attacks another UNSF soldier.

2.2 - The UNSF soldier fends him off easily. Before Radium pulls a gun, he's stopped by BAHRAM instructor Edgar.

2.3 - Instructor Edgar tells Radium and Viola that they have a meeting with a BAHRAM commanding officer.

2.4 - BAHRAM commander officially notifies LEV pilots; Radium and Viola to be transferred to Noctis weapons testing facility immediately upon instructor Edgar's recommendation. Radium sees this as demotion.

3.0 - Dolores is working in an LEV maintainence facility.

3.1 - A co-worker; Mellissa, tells Dolores about her boyfriend getting into a fight with UNSF soldiers.

4.0 - Radium and Viola are walking along a bridge alone at night. Radium tells Viola that being transferred to Noctis is a disgrace to being a Lieutenant.

4.1 - Dolores pulls up in a car.

4.2 - Radium tells Dolores and Viola about the conflict and racism between Earth and Mars. He says that the political struggle between the two planets is futile; the Martian army is a "joke".

4.3 - Dolores offers to drive Viola home. Viola refuses the offer. Radium and Dolores drive home.
